Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) held its 2025 event at Space House. Now in its 15th year, AFWL has supported over 3,000 African designers and creatives and welcomed thousands of visitors since it began, with catwalk shows, exhibitions and education programmes across the UK and Africa.

This year's edition opened with a performance of The Lion King. Lead actress Thenjiwe Nofemele (Rafiki) and the cast walked the runway in bespoke African-inspired outfits designed by AFWL Creative Director Bola Obileye. It marked the first time AFWL has worked with Disney Theatrical Group. The programme also included catwalk shows, brand installations and panel discussions held throughout the building.

It comes amid a lot of excitement around the African fashion industry which is valued at roughly $31 billion, with projections it could surpass $50 billion by 2030.

AFWL Founder Queen Ronke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi said: "We couldn't have wished for a better home for AFWL 2025. Space House's unique architecture and commitment to innovation perfectly matched our vision, and their support was invaluable in bringing this celebration of African creativity to life."

The scale of this year's event reflects a wider trend: African fashion continues to grow as a global industry, with designers, buyers and audiences increasingly recognised on international stages like London's. AFWL 2025 was its largest and most ambitious edition to date.
